Stopped by The BBQ Shop for lunch while passing thru town. I’m glad I did! What a great BBQ joint. It opened in 1959! We enjoyed brisket & pulled pork sandwiches with beans, slaw, pimento cheese stuffed jalapeno and apple cobbler with sweet tea. I was all delicious! I especially enjoyed the cobbler. It was very reasonably priced, a great atmosphere and the service was top shelf. Don’t change a thing. I’ll drop by next time I’m in town.

Delicious! Friendly and helpful staff. I was just passing through, but I'll make it point to stop by from now on. Kind of rustic in it's decor.

My all-time, fave bb cue!!! Unbeatable chopped pork sandwiches. Keep it simple, like the original menu: sandwich or plate, chips and a drink. The beans are good and the sauce is wonderful. I miss the 1970's, though, when you walked in off a wooden area and were then on a sawdust-covered floor....i loved watching the meat get chopped up on the giant hunk of wood. Pimiento cheese-stuffed jalapenos are cold, crisp and HOT!!!! Drive- thru is friendly.

Perfect meal. And the smell of the barbecue, once you enter the building, Nothing can stop you from getting a meat

The Barbecue House was recommended to me from a friend that lived in Nacogdoches. I can see why it. Walking in a small town with the aroma of fresh barbecue. Super friendly staff. Good size portions with a tasty menu. Recommend barbecue for your “pit” stop!

Their chili is really good. Wish they served it year round. Got rib plate tonight, it was awesome!

Good food nice atmosphere. The beans are great.

I was in town for a work event and to start moving furniture to our new house in Houston. It was a long day of packing up a truck and my brother wanted a Beef & Link Po-Boy. He couldn’t have made a better choice for lunch. The link has just the right heat and the beef is smoked to perfection! They chop the meat in front of you, shake on more seasonings and add their homemade bbq sauce. It is all amazing! I didn’t get any side this time but I have tried them all and they are great! Remember if you want a Ribeye Po-Boy you should be there before the lunch rush.
